Biotech millionaire John Crowley is seriously considering bid for the Republican nomination for Governor in 2009 – although some GOP leaders seem skeptical of his intentions after his on again, off again bid for the United States Senate last spring. But if Crowley runs, he could make a move for votes in the base of his likely rival, U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie. Sources say that Morris County Freeholder John Murphy, an old-time Christie foe who ran for Governor in 2005, has told some friends that he might be for Crowley.
The feud between Christie and Murphy goes back to 1997, when Christie was seeking a second term as a Morris County Freeholder and Murphy beat him in the GOP primary. After the election, Christie sued Murphy and his consultant, David Murray, for making false statements. The matter was settled out of court.

You are just making this stuff up. Slow news day?
Murphy and Florio
Now that John Murphy has joined with Jim Florio's firm, he might as well change parties and abandon any notion of running as a Republican in New Jersey.
would it even matter?
A little confused with the Lt. Gov role...would the candidates pick the Lt. Governor after the primary like it's done in presidential contests? Or are they running with them in the primary and the general?
Oh my God
Bergen_Prince - did he really associate with a democrat????? What blasphemy. He should know better. If you are a Republican, you can not have friends or business associates that are Democrats. That makes you less of a Republican. How could anyone actually associate with a member of the other party. This needs to stop. Dems should stay with Dems and Republicans with Republicans. (Sense the sarcasm) That view held by bergenprince is utterly ridiculous.
Murphy is a clown
The guy has been invisible since running for governor and running around the state telling everybody he's a firemen!
He couldn't get elected dog catcher outside the comfortable confines of Morris County Republican politics.
Vote Column - All the way!
