Moriarty gives up mayoral post

Assemblyman Paul Moriarty has decided not to seek re-election as Mayor of Washington Township, even the new state law barring dual officeholding would allow him to run because he held both posts before February of this year.  Instead, the local Democratic organization is backing former Councilman Matt Lyons.  Lyond will face Josh Aronovitch in the Democratic primary.

Assemblyman Johnson should follow his lead.

Assemblyman Johnson is a dual holder left over from the previous session of the state Assembly. Shame on Johnson!

Sweeney Stink

Guess he wanted to get rid of the Sweeney Stink that covers

Gloucester County.

Prepping for CD1

He's got to be on the *real* short list for Andrews' seat.

No Doubt Pre-emptive

More of a move to prepare for the Congressional primary than to avoid dual-officeholder scorn (he faced a recall effort in Township). Somebody out there must like him.

Township is a good place to learn the political ropes. Yet, I can't think of any politicans to come from there.
