ROBERTS STATEMENT ON BRAD ABELOW’S APPOINTMENT
AS NEW CHIEF OF STAFF TO GOVERNOR CORZINE
(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts, Jr., today issued the following statement regarding state Treasurer Bradley Abelow’s appointment as the new chief of staff to Governor Jon S. Corzine:
“Brad Abelow’s command of state finances and his determination to control government spending will be tremendous assets in this new role as chief of staff to Governor Corzine.
“The Treasurer has demonstrated that his skills go far beyond financial affairs and I believe that I speak for all members of my caucus when I say that I look forward to working more closely with Brad Abelow in the months and years to come.
“Regrettably, we will sorely miss Brad Abelow’s predecessor, Tom Shea. Tom served admirably as Governor Corzine’s top aide over the past 18 months. He deserves credit for being a steady influence during the administration’s inaugural months in the State House and during Governor Corzine’s auto-accident recovery.”
