If Karcher v. Beck commands attention as the blockbuster race in Monmouth county, the sheriff’s race is the undercard everyone’s also monitoring.
It pits a former assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Guadagno, a Republican Monmouth Beach Commissioner, against Belmar Police Chief Jack Hill, a Democrat.

Guadagno is an outstanding candidate
Hill cricizes his opponent because she was not a police officer and he believes he is better qualified to run the Sheriff's department because he is; however, the current Sheriff in Monmouth County was not a police officer before he was elected and he was the Sheriff of the year last year .... Sheriff of the year for the entire Country. He was - as Kim Guadagno - an attorney.
Guadagno has the better administrative and managerial experience required to lead the Sheriff's department, and she also has the background in the area of law enforcement (albeit prosecutorial) to give her the credentials to lead the Sheriff's department. And, she actually has put forth plans to address the problems in Monmouth County (as well as reign in the Department's budget, and personnel matters) unlike Hill who has put forth nothing.
To show how bad things have gotten for Hill he has taken the ridiculous step of trying to link a candidate for County Sheriff to George Bush .... you know your campaign has reached an all time low when you have to reach at those straws in a County Sheriff's race.
Look for Guadagno to take this race, and carry the rest of the County Republican ticket.
Beck the Scofflaw
Will new Sherriff go after scofflaws like Jenn Beck who habitually break the law?
Where is your proof?
Such accusations magixmaker - without proof - are libelous. There is nothing to indicate Jen Beck has ever broken any laws and to suggest to the contrary is proof you are either a Democrat hack, a Karcher mouthpiece, or simply lack any knowledge. I have many disagreements with Jen Beck's positions, but there is nothing to indicate she is what you claim. Regardless of what you feel about the person or their positions, without evidence, you should stay away from such allegations; it will only harm the one you are likely seeking to support.
Regardless, let's focus on the individual in this race and not try to deflect attention (deflection is a common liberl/Democrat tactic when they can't win on the issue or candidate at hand) and I'm sure Guadagno - as she has said many times - will go after Republicans and Democrats ... she has said it doesn't matter what party someone is from - the only thing that matters is whether they have broken the law.
AH, HA!
Beck ignored court warrants three times. She had her driver's license suspended multiple times but she drove anyway in violation of the law. Was it a DUI? Hit and Run? Wrong way on a one way road? These are questions for the assemblywoman. The Ledger wrote about this a few years back. It might have been when the Republicans were attacking Zulima Farber's driving record. What's good for the goose should be good for the gander.
There you go again...
Off on a tangent without getting back to the issue at hand; typical lib. This thread is about Kim Guadagno and how the video - as well as her record and positions/expressions on the campaign trail - show she is the best candidate for Monmouth County Sheriff.
But, as to your assertions on Beck ... you're grasping at straws; and your facts are off. Once you get them straight you can raise those questions ... however you are incorrect in the basis for your questions and - regardless - you raise only allegations/accusations (albeit unsubstantiated) that still do not constitute "proof" of criminal behavior. You allege and question which is different than your assertion that she has broken the law.
As for Farber, 13 suspensions - many based upon traffic violations - for someone who is supposed to be the top law enforcement officer in the state is a bit of an inconsistency; and then there was the boyfriend issue. Well, speaking of what's good for the gander, Ms. "I'm an ethical champion" Karcher was pretty silent when it came to the ethical issues during the McGreevey years, it seems as though she only grows a conscious around election time.
However, let's stay on the candidates for Sheriff ... the Senate races gets enough press of its own. So drop that debate already and just go tell Karcher to start advocating for the taxpayers and stop voting for increasing budgets, bigger government, more state debt (while she takes advantage of a $15,000+ tax break on her property taxes ... hopefully she pays them on time unlike four years ago when she "forgot" to pay some property tax bills) and trying to tell me what I should eat. Karcher has enough questions to answer on her tax and spend record; anyway, the race for the 12th deserves no more attention on this thread.
Its a hack
without sticking to the subject magix a hack.
How many suspensions did a prior AG have on her license?
Why was she shacked up with a lawbreaker?
She was an attorney as well, if I recall...
What about the indicted lawbreakers that sit right now in the State Senate? Wheres the sheriff, or better yet, the Governor on this one?
Hey if you want to put a yellow crime scene tape up all around the Golden Dome, I'm all for it. But lets not pick and choose who's breaking the law here for political gain.
