MERKT AND CARROLL WIN MORE SUPPORT FROM BUSINESS
PENPAC BACKS GOP MORRIS COUNTY ASSEMBLYMEN FOR RE-ELECTION
THIRD BUSINESS ENDORSEMENT IN TWO WEEKS FOR REPUBLICANS
PENPAC, the Private Enterprise Political Action Committee, announced today its endorsement of Morris County Assemblymen Richard A. Merkt and Michael P. Carroll (both R. - Morris) for re-election to the New Jersey Assembly in the 25th Legislative District. Merkt and Carroll received the business endorsement based on their proven records of supporting lower taxes, reduced government regulation, and a stronger economy in New Jersey.
"Assemblymen Merkt and Carroll have shown their deep personal commitment to creating jobs here in New Jersey, reducing the regulatory burden, and improving the overall economic climate of our state," remarked James D’Agostino, Chairman of PENPAC. "The Private Enterprise Political Action Committee is pleased to recognize Rick Merkt and Michael Carroll for their advocacy on behalf of the business community."
The PENPAC endorsement is given only to a small percentage of legislative candidates who understand the importance of pro-business public policies to the Garden State’s economic growth and future prosperity.
"PENPAC is proud to include Assemblymen Merkt and Carroll in its bi-partisan slate of candidates who grasp the many good things business brings to New Jersey," noted D’Agostino, adding, "They have been strong and consistent voices for common sense policies that encourage businesses to locate and remain in the Garden State."
Merkt and Carroll both expressed satisfaction at receiving the PENPAC endorsement for their re-election to the Assembly.
"I want to thank PENPAC for once again endorsing us for re-election to the Assembly from the 25th Legislative District," said Merkt. "We appreciate the business community’s strong support for our efforts to promote economic growth in New Jersey."
"We certainly appreciate receiving this endorsement from PENPAC," stated Carroll, who added, "While every business organization in New Jersey is supporting our re-election, our Democratic opponents can claim backing only from interests that benefit from Big Government and want to block true property tax reform."
The PENPAC endorsement constitutes the third time in just two weeks that Merkt and Carroll have been endorsed by a pro-business organization for their legislative records. Last week, NEW JOBS PAC, the business political action committee, recognized both 25th District assemblymen for their pro-business votes, and the National Federation of Independent Business, the Voice of Small Business, also endorsed them for re-election in the preceding week.
Merkt, who resides in Mendham Township, is completing his fourth term as a legislator. Carroll, of Morris Township, is presently serving his fifth term in the Assembly
