I'm suprised they are letting Jeff Bell write press releases....although after that release he may no longer be allowed to do that either.

Shevelew and Sarcone are to be respected for putting the taxpayers best interests ahead of the interests of party bosses. Good for them. Hopefully more people will step up and put the taxpayers first.

Let me here let you good folks know the real reason behind this whole non-issue. I received a letter before the primary detailing exactly what the search committee did and how they did it. After making a few calls to verify some accuracy, it was all true. Apparently the search committee needed to replace Donnelley met to pick the best person to replace him. I had my own opinions as to whom I personally would like, but hey, thats life. Debbie went before them as did Stacy Jordan and whomever else was on the list. Apparently the committee didnt feel she was the right person and were less than thrilled with her ability to demonstrate leadership based on party not personal loyalty. When she did not get her way after being told it was not her time, instead of being an adult and acting in the best interest of the party, she along with some other folk got together for revenge. Simply put. It was not about taking a stand, it was more about not getting her way. Most pols on both sides get rejected at one time or another but that is life. The numbers from the primary said it all. She and her mate got around 3800 to the County line of close to 8400. I further found out by looking at the numbers by town online, neither of the three won their own towns. To me that says volumes when you run for an office and cannot carry your home. Bottom line, it is no surprise that there is still anger over the loss, but most people are not surprised by their actions. But, regardless of what they say and who they are, most GOP will not back democrats. Look at Bodine. The democrats swore GOP would back him and he got clobbered.

You and your "machine" took out hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans to defeat the so called "bugs" and what did it get you? It got Aubrey Fenton exactly 13 PERCENT of Republican voters to come out and vote for him. It got Stacey Jordan 12 PERCENT of Republican voters to come vote for her.

You and your "machine" spend hundreds of thousands of dollars and get 13 percent of REPUBLICANS to vote for your hand picked candidates. That is a joke!

Your constant insistence that you are the chairman of a united and strong party is comical in the face of the facts. You drew 13 percent of Registered Republicans to vote for your candidate. 87 percent of REGISTERED REPUBLICANS did not vote for your candidates or did not even bother to vote even though you spent hundreds of thousands in loans to "squash the bugs"...

And please be factual... when you talk about the "real republicans" or the "endorsed republicans" you are talking about individuals loyal to you, endorsed by individuals loyal to you.

Of the 300 or so county committee members, how many do not have jobs with the county, appointments from the county, contracts with the county or otherwise not indebted to you for their livelihood?

 Your press releases are not good for much other than helping you tidy up after pushing out yet another meal from Old Country buffet.

Most GOP in Burlco know of the problems been had between two camps and one right now is calling the shots and the other is still trying to disrupt in the hopes of destroying the party.

I do not agree with Layton on many levels, but at the same time I do and will support my party. Now, about your stats, the turnout was low for a primary but bottom bottom bottom line, the renegades lost by a large margin. I know many of those GOP who did back them, and they are not under no circumstances going to back democrats.

Are you sure that those folk who back Fenton and whorship at his church are going to back the democrats because this renegade group says so? I think you totally underestimate the voters of this County.

That go to the county committee meetings don't know whats going on. They show up for the free refreshments. They couldn't tell anything about the candidates or their positions on any issues. They play no part in the decisions.

At the last meeting, Chris Baxter (the same Baxter involved w/ the Board of Social Services Scandal) got up and told the people who the candidates would be. The committee was never offered any other choices. Why let 5 people in a back room decide, why not let all the candidates go before the committee and then hold a vote??

I know the answer to my own question: Because then Layton might not get his puppet, which could jeopardize all those contracts he needs to award to big donors.

You are a disgrace, the vast majority of Committtee people take their job seriously and do not attend meetings just for refreshments. This is all about bruised egos and the lady from Evesham has the biggest ego I have ever seen. Look at me I'm so pretty! It now really makes sense about all these attacks coming out against the county. A few of those "renegade" supporters were pointed out to me at the last County Committee meeting and they did not look too happy after the primary beating. Most in attendance cheered and clapped for the GOP slate elected by the voters and I feel sorry that those who lost can only try to further cause problems. It is a shame because Nero said it right, you cannot be both. The difference between Bodine and Sarcone is that at least Bodine didnt vow revenge when he lost last year.

Oh and yes, I take my position, my elected position as a county committee member serioulsy because I am proud of my party and I am proud to help ensure the right people, the best people are on our ballot.

The county committee actually has never had a vote to decide between more than 1 candidate in as long as I can remember. Everything has been done behind the scenes for atleast the past 12 years I have been involved. I just started another term on committee and the meetings are definitely not engaging for members.

First of all repforlife, you are making stuff up. At least have the guts to admit that you are wrong. If you honestly think that Committee members do not know what is going on, then I think you need to resign your seat and let someone who really wants to represent the GOP take it.

Most of the people at those meetings know what is going on and are aware of what needs to be done. Your painting of a scene of mindless folk only make you look as sour as the renegades. Yes, some of the renegade fans were there and I am sure they were none to happy because the GOP voters denied their candidates.

However, you and I both know that those meetings always end up on a positive note and if you are so angry and bitter about being a part of the process, leave because I am sure no one needs another renegade like yourself.

Oh and bringing names to the members, obviously you do not know anything about the process. If you are so angry because your little picks dont make the cut THEN THE NEXT TIME ANYONE ASKS FOR ANY OTHER NAMES TO BE BROUGHT FORTH BEFORE THE NOMINATION PROCESS IS CLOSED AT THE VOTE, THEN OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND GIVE A NAME!

1. How many active county committee members are there?

2. How many of the county committee members are county employees?

3. How many of the county committee members are appointed to county or municipal boards?

4. How many of the county committee members are elected officials?

5. How many of the county committee members receive county contracts?

Add the above numbers up and how many true Republicans comprise the county committee?

Now, ask them how many candidate screening processes they have been privvy to.

Anyone want to venture a guess?

The point is that when your evidence of a unified party is based on folks who are indebted to you for their jobs or the whopping 13 percent of your OWN party who supported you in the primary, it doesn't really say much now does it?

Layton truth squad, your personal tirade was very amusing and full of hate towards anyone GOP that doesent agree with you, but let me answer a few of your hystrionics.

First of all, in my town we have a lot of dists and not one CC member works for the county or has. These are honest hard working men and women who are GOP and want to a positive job. You have no proof that every CC member is bought and paid for and that shows your own malice and discontent.

What I find amusing is that you renegade folk actually thought that your little band would actually force the voters hands.

The very fact that Sarcone is crying to the paper only further proves that we made the right decision to reject her, her team, and her group. At the end of the day, it is a non issue because its over; she is not running and she should really change her party affilliaiton with the others because we dont need them.

I was looking at the most recent ELEC report out of the Burlington GOP and it is quite interesting.

I am trying to figure out why Charles Lambiase pays himself and his wife salaries with money donated to the party? Is it normal for the treasurer and his wife to get salaries from the party they serve?

What did Glenn Paulsen do to earn $10,000 in legal fees that was paid to him on June 30? Seems like a lot of money for legal fees?

And of course all the normal hacks signed for the $250,000 loan: Bark, Layton Paulsen, Baxter, Bristow, Strobel....I guess they all needed to protect their positions so to speak.

The Democrats took another page out of their failed campaign strategy guide. This is nothing more than Deja Vu for the Burlington Democrats.

They tried a similar manuver last year with Republican turned Democrat Fran Bodine and had less than stellar results.

Now they are putting their eggs in the basket of two disgruntled Republicans?  If I were the Democrats I wouldn't trust these two loser at all. How do trust anyone who endorses candidates - not because they have had a change in ideology, but because they didn't get their way.

The Democrats deserve these two - it will be fun watching them get burned again.
