Union County Freeholder Director Angel Estrada picked up a phone
Freeholder Director Angel Estradatoday and told top Union County Democratic officials that he wants to be considered among the candidates to replace Assemblyman Neil Cohen (D-Roselle).
"Now it’s up to the party to decide," said Estrada, 57, an Elizabeth resident who has served as a freeholder for nine years, including two, one-year terms as director.
Prior to his freeholder service, Estrada was a member of the Board of Education for six years, and a Democratic Party committeeman.
"I very much care about the needs of people, especially poor people in this district," said Estrada, who has lived in Elizabeth since he was ten. "I’m making myself available, I am interested, and beyond that there’s nothing much I can do. It’s not up to me."
A manager with the Elizabeth Motor Vehicle Commission, Estrada admitted that while he is not from Cohen’s hometown of Roselle, "I can definitely ensure that the interests of all the 20th District residents would be represented well."

Better check this guys hard drive too

Wasnt too long ago that Estrada bailed out Farber's man with some driving issues ---did we forget about this?
BTW - Bitaryo that was really funny
Holy Ticket-Fixing! It's the "Enabler!"
Shades of Hamlet Gore!
Why, it's none other than the Motor Vehicles Commission's enabler for the ticket-fixing scandal starring former AG, Zulima Farber and her boy-friend!
Angel was the politically-appointed manager of the Elizabeth MVC office, who, a few summer's ago, violated a well-established Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) fiscal security procedure. He ordered a subordinate employee at MVC to renew a close friend’s (Hamlet Gore) registration in the MVC computer system, without having received the payment first. That used to be a big no-no at DMV.
He got caught when the ticket-fixing scheme was later probed. It was all part of an elaborate cover-up of the ticket-fixing arrangement that was being worked out for Hamlet Gore. Remember when "girlfriend" ordered her trooper driver to hustle to the scene in Fairlawn?
Luckily for Angel Estrada, former Judge Williams, who investigated the ticket-fixing matter, said he did not have jurisdiction over the apparent violation of MVC rules that he had uncovered.
But he did pointedly say the following, as quoted in the Record at the time. From the Record story:
"Mr. Estrada's handling of this matter before Hamlet Goore arrived at the MVC agency raises questions about the propriety of his practices and whether they were in compliance with MVC procedures," Williams wrote in his report.
There was apparently some sort of "internal investigation" at MVC, and the matter was turned over to the State Ethics Commission, but when the matter was finally "resolved" months later, the reports of both MVC and the State Ethics Commission were determined to be "disciplinary matters" that are not a matter of public record.
Now, Angel wants to be an Assemblyman!??
Oh, great! Will Angel consent to the release of the reports about his violation of MVC practices and procedures?
Don't bet on it!
