BCRO chairman calls out freeholder for Ferriero defense

Bergen County Republican Chairman Bob Yudin was so incensed by Freeholder David Ganz’s defense of indicted Bergen County Democratic Chairman Joe Ferriero that he called on the freeholder himself to resign this morning.

Yudin said that, while Ferriero remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, an indictment is cause enough to remove him from his chairmanship of the Democratic organization.

“This is a person running a political organization, and an indictment is damning enough that he should resign,’ he said. “If there is a prima facie case as there is here, it is outrageous that an elected official like Ganz says he should not resign. Not only is it outrageous, but if that’s his position, then he honestly doesn’t understand what being an elected official means. He’s betraying the voters’ trust.”

Yudin’s party is running a slate of three candidates against Ganz and incumbent Democratic Freeholders Bernadette McPherson and Vernon Walton.

Yudin said the same logic also applies to Sheriff Leo McGuire and Surrogate Mike Dressler, who both also defended Ferriero last night and are not up for reelection this year.

“They’re betraying the trust of the people that elected them. Even though these three officials know of this corruption… they’re still saying this man should lead the party,” said Yudin.

Ganz responded by noting that Yudin himself has run for freeholder three times without success.

“Bob Yudin has run three failed campaigns on that premise, and if he wants to run a fourth failed campaign, that’s his prerogative. The beautiful thing about America is when you’re an elected official you have to take guff and a lot of stuff thrown against the wall by the other side," he said.  "Bob Yudin is very good at throwing stuff against the wall, but not very good about communicating his message.”

Hey Bob Yudin in case you forgot we live in Ameirca. Everyone has the right to free speech. If everyone resigned after speaking their mind, no one would be in public office. The only reason you want Freeholder Ganz to resing is because you CAN'T beat him in an election.

Oh Yeah Vet?

Didnt this guy lose by ten points in a town thats 3-1 Democratic? Ferriero's biggest mistake besides Bergenfield was keeping David "The Coin" Ganz around.

scoop

I wouldn't count on one town in a countywide race. The voters of the entire county will make the decision on election day and remember, Joe Ferriero's name won't be on the ballot. The freeholder will be judged by his performance in office. And from what I've heard the majority of people in Bergen are happy with the currnet Freeolder board. We'll see who's right in November.

Just who do you owe your job to. ? Ganz, Mc Pherson and Walton are Ferriero stooges who have all been kicked out of their towns. They are a disgrace to Bergen County. People dont care if you were an Animal doctor back in 1948. Just take off the corruption blind fold and you will see   that you are all going down to defeat in November.

count at least 3 towns

vet. at least 3 towns, Rutherford, Fairlawn and Englewood. Not to mention many of my fellow cc members in Teaneck who were not happy about being locked out on the Walton NON vote.

Attention VET

Yes, we have free speach but he is an elected official and needs to represent thos who voted for him. There is little doubt why a man who was an elected freeholder could not get elected in his own hometown just like McPherson and Wagner. They are just empty suits.

This is just the surface. There is so much more. Wait for the money laundering cases to hit not to mention the rape of a minor.

It is just clear that Ganz is Ferriero's muppet.

Say no

Money laundering and rape. It's a good thing you don't use your name or you would be sued for slander. But be that as it may you will have to wait for Nov 4th to see who is right.

I don't owe my job to anyone as I am retired. I don't comprehend your statement about an Animal doctor, but your republican bias and hatred is showing. Like most members of the republican lunatic right wing fringe, you froth at the mouth but still can't beat the dems.
