Sabrin may not get to address Somerset Republicans tonight; Crowley not expected to show up

It is hypocritical of Murray Sabrin to campaign for the county lines while all the while running his own slate of candidates against the county lines.

Murray Sabrin's way of thinking has made him unsuccesful in his last two campaigns, and he will probably be unsuccesful in his current one.

"I do not recall Dr. Sabrin running as a Republican before or I am mistaken. This time, as a Republican candidate, Dr. Sabrin will have all mighty NJ GOP behind his candidacy. The same way that Schundler had in his gubernatorial race. "

HAHAHAHHA. Seriously? The NJ GOP that Sabrin has threatened to destroy? Good luck with that.

Once again Eric is drinking the establishment Kool-aid ..

Murray Sabrin is running as a Republican and therefore should be allowed to speak to any audience that features Republican voters that offers an opportunity to run on an "official" line.

No pledges need to be made from any candidate that proposes to run on another line, it is still the Republican party Eric, just not your version of the party bosses establishment kind..

And to those who asked in previous comments, Murray has ran twice before, both as a Libertarian and a Republican.

... he is employing the tactics of a banana republic revolutionary leader in seeking the GOP nomination.  There is nothing new about attacking one's own party or the ruling class (i.e. threatening to run a slate against the party establishment) then screaming that you've been wronged when they play tit for tat by using their institutional power to somehow cut you off at the knees (i.e. not letting Murray speak).  In essence, Murray is going out of his way to make himself persona non grata to the organization and then crying foul when they retaliate. 

Any student political psychology recognizes this tactic for what it is.  It attempts to build cohesion amongst the faithful -- in this case, the Sabrinistas -- by cultivating an "us against them" mentality to acheive a goal.  It also attempts to cast Murray as David going up against Goliath, which always plays well to the American conscience.  The problem is, within the parameters of a particular closed system -- in this case the NJGOP -- even if successful, this strategy ultimately works to fracture any potential future unity going into the general election.  In defeat, this disunity is used by the losing candidate to deflect any responsibility for the loss from him or herself.  You can bet the house that if Murray garners the GOP nomination, runs in the general under the Republican banner and loses miserably to Andrews/Lautenberg, not even a single Sabrinista will blame Murray for the loss.  In fact, they will be back the next election cycle pumping Murray as the only true savior of the Grand Old Party.  Thus it is always to zealots. 

I heard Dr. Sabrin debate at the Gloucester County Convention and there were many town committee members that voted for him. He won not because of his campaign tactics, but his ideas. There seems to be a desire to prevent him from speaking. Why?

To deny him a chance to speak is pure bull. If your county line is solid then it does not matter who runs what against them. Who is to say there will even be one offered? I don't recall the Gloucester GOP having a separate line. 

Can anyone identify what results these party "bosses" have produced in the past 11 years that requires everyone bowing down to them?

 If Dr. Sabrin was trying to upset the applecart on a successful venture, I would understand the angst. But he is not. He is pointing out abysmal failure.  

So the GOP is supposed to continue marching to this failed drummer and ignore all facts?
