The Political Insider, a weekly column on Hudson County politics in the Jersey Journal, reports that Bernard Kenny, the Senate Majority Leader and Hudson County Democratic Chairman, could be in line for a spot in Governor Jon Corzine's administration -- as President of the Board of Public Utilities (to replace Jeanne Fox) or as Chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (to replace Anthony Coscia.) If he seeks re-election in 2007, Kenny faces a likely challenge in the Democratic from Assemblyman Brian Stack, the Mayor of Union City.

If Bernard Kenny doesn't want to end up like Rafael Fraguela, he'll take the Governor up on his offer. Even if it's a paycut for him.

No, in the spirit of Albio Sires, he switched back after he got pummeled in November of '03.(without becoming an independent first.) The funny thing about him was that he actually thought he was somebody without the HCDO and was too full of himself to realize that he was just a name without a face.
Ultimately, Bernard Kenny will suffer the same fate as his name is virtually unkown and carries very little weight with the bulk of Hudson's Democratic voters who would vote for Alvin the Chipmunk without even looking at the ballot.

The investigation into the fiscal operation at the BPU is finally wrapping up. The Star-Ledger has had her in their sights for quite some time. Finally, the EPA's inspector general is looking into her decision to make herself look good by taking the Ford/Ringwood Mines toxic sight off ot the Superfun list when she was EPA Regional Administrator.
All three of those investigations are going poorly for her, and she has become a liability.

Removing Tony Coscia would be such a monumnetally stupid move that it even fails the whacky-gossip test. So, the BPU it is for Mr. Kenny.
