Burlington County Freeholder Director Aubrey Fenton today added the endorsement of the Burlington County Times to his list of support for his re-election.
The daily paper praised Fenton for his handling of fiscal matters, stating that one of the first things he did as director was adopt a county budget that not only lowered the tax rate but also reduced the amount to be raised by taxation.
“As state aid dried up and the economy went into a tailspin, Fenton was forced to make some tough decisions and, so far, he has handled those challenges well,” the paper said.
Last week, the Courier Post endorsed both Fenton and his running mate, Freeholder Stacey Jordan, citing their “principled leadership” and commitment to fiscal responsibility.
Fenton also picked up the endorsement of the Central labor Council.
“We are pleased at the editorial support we’ve received,” Fenton and Jordan said. “It is a recognition of our dedication to the principles of low taxes, prudent spending, and high quality services to the people.”
“Moreover,” Fenton said, “the Central Labor Council support is welcome, indeed, because it represents the hardworking men and women in the county, the people who look to government for leadership in these difficult economic times.”
