In Illinois, it's Pascoe vs. Bowen

A Special Election for Congress in Illinois’ 14th district – the seat formerly held by Dennis Hastert – is of special interest to New Jerseyans because the campaigns of the two major party candidates are being run by operatives who once worked in this state.  The campaign of Republican Jim Oberweis is being run by Bill Pascoe, who has run campaigns for Bret Schundler, Douglas Forrester, Nicholas Asselta and others.  And Tom Bowen, who ran the Assembly campaigns of Paul Moriarty and David Mayer in 2003, is managing Democrat Bill Foster’s race.  According to Chris Cillizza’s analysis in The Washington Post, this is a close race in a reliably Republican district.

Pascoe

Pascoe is an entertaining character, but I can't believe that he's the National GOP's choice to run a pretty important race.

Is he really the best they've got?

You have to even ask?

Mr Democrat,

Look who the GOP has offered up in NJ in the last few cycles in state wide races. It's laughable and just look how recently their GOP US Senate campaign has fallen apart even before it got started. Some are now even calling on for other candidates to jump in the US Senate race, even those who don't live in the state!

The Democrats are blessed they are farming out failed NJ GOP campaign managers to other states.

Why should we care?

I do not know.
