Harry Hurley wil be #100 on the PoliticsNJ.com Power List 2007 -- the 100 Most Powerful People in New Jersey PoliticsAtlantic City radio show host Harry Hurley will be the 100th person on PoliticsNJ.com's list of the 100 Most Powerful People in New Jersey Politics. The final slot was left to the choice of our readers, and in a two-day online poll that attracted nearly 2,900 voters, Hurley defeated Republican State Chairman Tom Wilson by a 35%-15% margin. Public Policy guru Jon Shure finished third with 12%, just narrowly leading Union County Manager George Devanney (12%). None of the other six candidates -- Cape May County GOP Chairman David Von Savage, attorney and Democratic fundraiser Victor Herlinsky, conservative political strategist Rick Shaftan, Burlington County GOP Chairman Mike Warner, and Jersey City political activists Bobby Jackson and Joe Cardwell -- finished in the double digits.
The Power List will be released today, with names revealed in groups of ten at half-hour intervals, beginning at 10AM.

Am I the only one who finds it strange that a poll is taken for the determination of last place? Who picks the 1st through 99th places? How were the 1st through 99th places determined?

Let me get this right...
The Chairman of the Republican Party did not make the top 100?
Hurley the Hack
This guy and his brother, while they have recognized that Craig Calloway was corrupt (Which was like stealing candy from a baby)are hacks this guy lobbied on his web page for votes. His (and his brothers) articles are written so badly that they are literally painful to read. He makes attacks on the weak and his ego is so inflated he could be a float in the Mummers Parade. Furthermore, no one listens to him.
#1 ??
any predictions for #1?
I forget the criteria, but I'm pretty sure Chris Christie is eligible. If so, he's #1.
Steve Adubato Sr. will surely be in the top-10, as will Norcross, Ferriero, Scarinci. Tom Shea and some other Corzine advisors will be up there too.
I can't think of anyone else in the GOP who's in the top-10 right now.
Lonegan I suppose will be the 2nd Republican after Christie.
I think it's awesome...
...that Tom Wilson didnt make the list. He's ineffective and his party is rapidly approaching totally irrelevant in New Jersey politics. That the Republicans saw fit to re-elect him chair means they are beggars to their own demise.
What a suprise
Tom Wilson didn't make the list. Does the marionette win awards or the puppeteers?

Who's number 1?
I would guess the Number 1 pick is Karla Katz. She owns the Governor.

Wilson still won
Somehow he is still Chair. If only he fought as hard on behalf of the GOP's candidates and their issues as he did to keep his $150K per year job, maybe ... just maybe ... the GOP wouldn't be the doormat that it has become. Good job Tom!
Wilson
He got what and he and the State party deserved-nothing!
