PASSAIC COUNTY -- In a desperate attempt to demonstrate the he actually matters in Trenton, Assemblyman Scott Rumana today issued a press release touting his award as the Person of the Year from an obscure organization known as the Building Officials Association of New Jersey. The organization is apparently made up of a handful of bureaucrats who enforce onerous building codes in New Jersey.
A visit to the organization’s web site www.boanj.com/content.php?id=12verifies that the organization is a non entity. In fact the BOANJ has failed in six of the past 10 years to even issue a person of the year award. And the wards it has issued have all gone to building code officials.
“With all due respect to the BOANJ, this is truly a desperate attempt by Scott Rumana to try demonstrate that he has done something in Trenton that matters,” said GOP Strong co -chair Michael Ramaglia.
“He is trying to build a resume out of saying and doing nothing.”
“Assemblyman Rumana knows he has done nothing meaningful to fight the state’s ridiculously harmful affordable housing regulations, so he gets some organization no one has ever heard of to give him an award while he is at a convention in Atlantic City. It is really a pathetic attempt to cover up his miserable record of accomplishment,” said Ramaglia.
“I would have thought Assemblyman Rumana might actually like to do something credible to fight COAH and at least acknowledge the ideas our organization – GOP Strong put forward to him weeks ago at a meeting in Wayne," added Ramaglia, a Wayne resident.
“But he refuses to acknowledge that he is clueless on COAH and needs help and input from people who are determined to fight Gov. Corzine’s affordable housing disaster.”
“This is truly a sign that Scott Rumana is trying desperately to be relevant,” said Ramaglia.
