Jon Corzine and Brad Abelow earned millions together as partners on Wall Street, and one Republican legislator says they should "contribute a few hundred million dollars of their own to pay for what they want to spend" in Trenton.
Corzine and Abelow are "“utterly out of touch with the average taxpayer,” says Richard Merkt, a five-term Assemblyman from Morris County. “Governor Corzine and Mr. Abelow need to do something other than raid the taxpayer’s wallet to pay for their ‘needs,’” said Merkt. “The pickpocket attitude of this Administration and Democrat Legislature is unbelievable. They just don’t get it that it’s not just high taxes, but excessive taxes, that are leading residents to flee New Jersey in droves.”
"If you return the Democrat Majority, that’s exactly what you are going to get," Merkt said.

Dear Editor
It is traditional in the media to write "(sic)" when someone makes an grammatical or other linguistic mistake in a quote. This way we know that it is the speaker/writer who is the illiterate and not the reporter/editor.
When Merkt or others say "Demcorat Legislature" or "Democrat Majority" it should instead read "Democrat (sic) Legislature" and "Democrat (sic) Majority."
Of course, that is only if you want to maintain journalistic traditions.
