Help wanted to beat Saxton

Richard Sexton, the Democratic candidate for Congress against eleven-term Republican Congressman James Saxton in the third district, is "looking to hire a campaign manager," according to an employment ad he has placed online. Sexton, who has $57,397 cash-on-hand, says he is willing to pay a monthly salary of $6,000.

Rich Sexton absolutely must be elected over Jim Saxton and his anti-N.J. policies. The 3rd district is not a pro-war, pro-Bush one, ideologically speaking, yet Saxton constantly votes the party line, even when it means hurting funding for the state. Sexton, a veteran and a thoughtful politician, would better represent the values of Cherry Hill and BurlCo. voters with his progressive policies and common-sense foreign policy approach.

Roscoe

Why are you worried about Dino?

He stats facts and you respond with crap. You should be worried about yourself and your inability to respond in an intelligent manner.

Your methods are old and played-out. You are obviously trying to intimidate Dino and make him stop blogging about Congressman Bob "MIA" Menendez.

I hope that Dino is secure enough with his own identity to ignore your lame tactics.

The democratic machine's decision to put up a guy named Sexton to run against Saxton is a cynical ploy to confuse the large number of senior citizens who live in the 3rd CD.

Jim Saxton is one of NJ's most popular members of Congress because he accurately reflects the values of his district - storng on defense and strong on the environment.

Jim Saxton will be re-elected, the South Jersey party bosses will be exposed, and Saxton may well become chaiman of the Armed Services Committee.

A good deal all around!

Rich Sexton absolutely must be elected to Congress in the 3rd district. He better represents the values than Saxton, who has taken campaign contributions from Tom DeLay, votes with the Republicans over 80% of the time in Congress, and who voted for the Iraq War, which continues to hurt our communities in New Jersey. Sexton, a war veteran, is better suited to represent South Jersey and his constituents than Saxton.

MartinOne

I think you need to pick up a few newspapers and read-up on the events occuring in the mideast.(Israel)

I am sure that people who voted against the war in Iraq will experience a sudden end to their political careers.

Just think about this:

Senator Hillary Clinton voted in favor of the war. How can she run for president?

I'm sure knuckleheads like yourself will support her blindly.

AMERICA: It is time to STOP politicizing the war in Iraq. It is time to win!

Speaking of scripture, Dino, you should look out about casting the first stone. There may have been a Saxton/Sexton mixup, but your use of "your" is just as erroneous.

Matt,(can I call you Matt?) There is a big difference in my hatr

Matt,(can I call you Matt?) There is a big difference in my hatred for liberal socialist ideologies that have proven time and time again to be an utter failure and yet, continue to be supported and propped up by New Jersey Democrats whether it be on a state OR federal level, and liberals who genuinely despise leaders like President Bush just as they did with Ronald Reagan in the 80's on a personal level.

As a lib who nicknames yourself after a bible scripture you should remember to hate the sin and love the sinner.

I could care less about liberals like Bob Menendez on a personal level. If anything I wish he would disappear from Washington and take up golf. Politically however, it is his poor record on the vital issues that affect this nation like taxes, military and defense spending, illegal alienism and homeland security that that bring democracies to their knees. Remember Matt that when a Democracy collapses, it collapses from within.

Bob Menendez like the rest of the hardline liberals in this country want to constantly harp on President Bush's low popularity ratings when it was a liberal Democrat of the past in Harry Truman who once said, "I never did give anybody hell. I just told the truth, and they thought it was hell." And,"A president cannot always be popular."

Unlike modern day pacifist liberals Presidents like Harry Truman saw the need to eliminate our enemy in order to silence them. In case you don't remember, it was a Truman, a liberal Democrat who used Nuclear Warfare to wipe out the enemy in WWII.(And rightfully so.)

Liberals scream and cry over Guantanamo Bay where we are rightfully holding terrorist barbarians whereas it was a Liberal Democrat President in Franklin D. Roosevelt whom, after Pearl Harbor was bombed saw fit to round up every last Japanese man, woman and child,(legally residing in the country) and have them relocated to detention camps like Manzanar. Where is the liberal outrage when a great deal of modern day liberals across this nation trumpet him as the greatest President of the modern era?(That honor actually goes to Ronald Reagan.) Personally, I believe that FDR was a great war time President but adamantly disagree with the way he mistreated Japanese Americans. I however don't use that as an excuse to call him a bad President. He is hands down one of the most inspirational figures in our nation's history.

So Matt, do yourself a favor as I've said to you in the past and live by the blogger name you give yourself. You never know when it's going to come back to bite you if you don't.

Roscoe, if the condition of your state doesn't make you angry then quite frankly, you're not human.

Maybe your on Bob Menendez's payroll. Or better yet, maybe you're one of his staunch supporters who is on welfare and therefore doesn't pay taxes.

Either way, you've made it pretty clear that you don't give a Farber.

It's nice to see how Bob Menendez is spreading his Hudson County wealth statewide to help his fellow Democrats.

All kidding aside Mr. Sexton, Menendez wouldn't be stupid enough to give you any money because he knows you're a lost cause. THAT'S the reason why you don't have a campaign manager when you should've had one prior to the June Primary and anyone you do pick is going to be some liberal hack who studied Russian Economics in college.

Sexton has 57k on hand. That should end the conversation right there. How does anyone think he can be competitive against a guy who is so beloved by his district? Saxton is going nowhere but up - to a Chairmanship. He is the most influential Republican Congressman in New Jersey. He has a warchest that he isn't afraid to spend. He also isn't retiring anytime soon. Why would he? For a govt relations job? I don't think so. He loves being a Congressman and I would challenge anyone to prove to me that he doesn't represent his voters beliefs and ideology

I hope that Sexton beats Saxton, but he isn't going to do it if he spends almost a third of his cash on hand on a campaign manager.

No campaign manager, even one of the best in the state like Steve Ayscue or Brendan Gill, is going to be able to do enough by himself to overcome the obstacles that Sexton is facing in his race against Saxton.

Instead, Sexton needs to build a volunteer army and dedicate every penny towards getting his message out to as many people as possible.

If anything, he should offer a pro like Ayscue $1,000 to sit down with him one night and develop a very basic campaign plan that Sexton and his volunteers can implement without a professional staff.

Name the last challenger who posed a serious threat to Saxton?

Name the last challenger who posed a serious threat to Saxton? Did you pick Bass Levin? Well then you are wrong. John Adler is the correct answer - in 1990. Saxton isn't going anywhere. MartinOne is just drinking the DCCC kool aid. Saxton's approval rating are in the high 60 to low 70 percent. They can run a billy goat on the Democrat line and he would garner 30 percent of the vote. It doesn't matter. Walt and Doonesbury have it right - Saxton will win easily and is in the serious hunt for the House Armed Services Chairmanship. With Majority Leader Boehner backing him - should they keep the House - in two years Saxton is in a very good position to obtain the Chairmanship.

The bottom line is Sexton should just save his money and repay the loans he gave to his campaign. It's not worth wasting money.
