(METUCHEN) – The Middlesex County Democratic Freeholder candidates Stephen J. “Pete” Dalina, Chris Rafano and Blanquita Valenti have received the endorsement of the Middlesex County Education Association.
“We are proud to endorse Freeholders Dalina, Rafano and Valenti,” said MCEA President Frank J. Zaremba. “They have demonstrated a strong commitment to public education and have provided our students with the resources to achieve high standards in the classroom.”
He said the county’s commitment towards improving the educational opportunities for students can be seen through the construction of the Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering on the campus of Middlesex County College and the new Middlesex County Vocational-Technical School in Perth Amboy. The county also provided a computer in every classroom through its Tech 2000 program.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the MCEA,” said Freeholder Dalina. “Ensuring a quality education for our students is something the county Freeholders take very seriously. We will continue to do all we can in support of public education.”
Freeholder Rafano said, “The MCEA’s support of our Freeholder ticket is very important to us. The county has top-notch teachers and we will provide them with the tools necessary to help our children achieve their goals.”
Freeholder Valenti said the county has worked hard to ensure that the Vo-Tech school system is supported. “In this way, students will receive a thorough and efficient education to enter our workforce or continue to higher education,” she said.
The MCEA, headquartered in East Brunswick, has a membership of over 15,000.
