U.S. Senate candidate Anne Evans Estabrook has a position on the war in Iraq, according to a letter her campaign exploratory committee sent to some Republicans in August:
I believe that the war in Iraq has been badly mismanaged. To resolve this issue, Congress must shift from trying to score political points to doing what is best for America and what is best for the men and women serving our country.
If elected, I would work toward finding a solution in Iraq that gets our troops home, not by creating artificial deadlines dictated by politics, but by pressuring Iraq to take more responsibility for securing their country by setting and holding to benchmarks measuring their success, and by engaging other countries oin that areas of the world in the process of stabilizing Iraq.

Does Anyone Believe Her?
Am I really to believe this is her position on Iraq when it has taken her months to formulate just the right response?
She could say anything she wants about Iraq, and I wouldn't believe her...even if her position was identical to mine.
The last thing we need in Washington is ANOTHER finger-in-the-air politician whose positions change according to the latest poll data.
She is a RINO through and through.
Fresh idea
Estabrook writes, "It is time to change the way business is done in Washington." This is the kind of bold thinking that reminds me of....well...everyone else who has said it.
Good Response
To be fair, how many people besides us political junkies who have nothing better to do with our free time than be here are going to even know that she waited this long to come up with a position?
This race really hasn't been publicized at all and the average voter knows nothing about any of this.
While I'm no supporter of hers, I think we need to realize that once campaign season rolls around, this will be a non issue.
Any and all GOP opposition had better be prepared to deal with their own stance on the issues ranging from Iraq, to education, to the Economy.
Running against Estabrook will be an excellent litmus test for any other potential GOP candidate.
If an opposing candidate does nothing but smear Estabrook and win the nomination, we can expect more of the same and another L in the NJGOP column.
"I'd rather be a conservative nutjob than a liberal with no nuts and no job."
HA HA HA HA
Dino thinks about his taglines about as much as he thinks about his positions.
"I'd rather be a conservative nutjob than a liberal with no nuts and no job."
So you would rather be a conservative nutjob than a liberal stay-at-home mother? What do you have against soccer moms?
Or is it that you think being a conservative nutjob is one level above being an unemployed eunuch with progressive politics? Would a conservative nutjob be above or below being an unemployed eunuch who idolizes Reagan?
Seriously, if you measure the desirability of your political positions in terms of the castrated jobless maybe you should rethink your politics.
EstaForrester!!!
What a disaster.
Bill Brennan
"Dino thinks about his taglines about as much as he thinks about his positions."
It's a joke, Bill. Something you obviously don't get because you're so driven by and caught up in your ideology and political correctness that you've forgotten how to laugh.
I on the other hand, can laugh at a Bush joke or a Republican joke because I am confident enough in myself and what I believe to take a joke.
Bill, stop taking yourself so seriously and learn how to laugh.
"I'd rather be a conservative nutjob than a liberal with no nuts and no job."
Bill Brennen
wondering is Bill Brennen Bryan Lonegans adopted half brother ?
oldtimer, ononuk, and Dorset are right
No one believes her, she is another RINO, and (being a RINO) she will be a "finger-in-the-air" politician basing her position on whichever way she thinks is best for per political career.
She is saying the same things that everyone in the past has said (again, why should we believe her .... and no one does).
And, her candidacy will be another Forrester debacle.
All that will lead to what Dino says, a good test for any candidate who opposes her; however, to date, the only other potential candidate (Pennachio) is half a lib too. Therefore, we are going to end up with another L in the NJGOP column.
Dino, Some Day You'll Get Something Right
Ummmmmm, I was joking, too. Sheesh.
And I am not now, nor have I ever been, a Bill of any kind. Keep playing and maybe one day you can earn some Rice-A-Roni, the San Franciso Treat!
But I still have some questions for you.
Is being a conservative nutjob better or worse than being an conservative employed eunuch?
Better or worse than being an unemployed woman with progressive leanings?
Or about the same as a leftist hermaphroditic temp worker?
