Middlesex County Democratic Party Chairman Joseph Spicuzzo said he will award the organization line to the winners of the March 5 party convention – including U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg.
“I am bound by the decisions made by our Democratic committeemen and committeewomen during that nominating convention,” said Spicuzzo. “I am aware, of course, that there is a significant difference of opinion being expressed by several of our party leaders. However, at least during the years of my chairmanship, we have awarded the line and its slogan, ‘Middlesex County Democratic Organization,’ to those winners.”
State Sens. Robert Smith, Barbara Buono, and Joseph Vitale, Assemblyman John Wisniewski, Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac and other key local officials have endorsed Rep. Rob Andrews for the Senate.

It is getting hot in NJ.
Great news, a sitting US Senator holds a line in his own party. No, it is not the GOP. It is the Democrats for a change. No not the Real Democrats, the regular Democrats. No not the Southern Democrats, the Northern Democrats. No not the Northern Democrats but the NJ Democrats.
party line vs. the will of the people
Almost every Democratic elected official in Middlesex Co. has come out in support of the right candidate for this primary, Andrews, yet the party bosses are determining the status quo party line vote goes to Lautenberg. Don't circumvent the will of the people, who, by extension, are speaking through the elected officials: Give the party line to Andrews in Middlesex.
(P.S. Wiel, I appreciate your commentary; keep it up).
Will of the People
Shouldn't the Chairman respect the will of the people by respecting the, "decisions made by our Democratic committeemen and committeewomen during that nominating convention"?
Three Seantor's and a Mayor trying to boss the party around isn't the will of the people. It's politics as usual in NJ.
Oh, and I am sure those Senators were acting on the best interest of the people and not because they were promised goodies from the boss tweed of NJ.
