BCEA Backs Entire Democratic Slate for Vocal Support of Education
HACKENSACK - Today Bergen County Sheriff Leo McGuire and Freeholders James Carroll, Tomas Padilla and Elizabeth Calabrese accepted the endorsement of the Bergen County Education Association. In letters addressed to the candidates, the BCEA announced that its membership voted to back each Democratic candidate at the organization’s September 5th meeting.
“This team has never hesitated to put education first.” said Sheriff McGuire. “As parents, we know the value of a good education. As elected representatives, we know the value of a good educational system.”
“We are very proud to accept the BCEA’s endorsement,” said Freeholder Carroll. “Each of us believes in the power of education to transform lives for the better and have never wavered in our support for Bergen County’s public schools.”
“Our county educational facilities are the crown jewel of Bergen,” said Freeholder Padilla. “They are a key component of our effort to deliver a better quality of life to our residents and brighter future for our children.”
“This is a particularly wonderful endorsement to receive,” said Calabrese. “It is an affirmation of all of the work this team has done to make the best county educational system in the state even better.”
“We are very pleased to offer our endorsement to this year’s Democratic Team,” said BCEA president Joseph Coppola, Jr. “Each of them have proved their continuous commitment to improving education at every level and providing each of Bergen’s residents all the opportunities a better education affords them.”
