Corzine drops aide who was in crash

Gawker.com reports that Gov. Jon Corzine has reassigned aide Samantha Gordon:

What do you get the employee who survives a brutal high-speed accident with you? Well, New Jersey governor Jon Corzine may be retaining the same driver who was behind the wheel during his vicious crack-up back in April, as the AP says—but he won't retain the traveling companions. We hear Samantha Gordon, the Huma to his Hillary, his mid-20s body woman who emerged largely unscathed from the crash, has been reassigned from her job. In the crash, Corzine was supposedly in the front seat, and not wearing a seatbelt, unlike his primary aide Ms. Gordon, who, though also not wearing a seat belt, was in the back seat alone. Ms. Gordon did not return a phone call this afternoon. Sounds like a rough deal to us.

He's Ultimately reassigned ALL the women in his life

The wife --- history, with a couple $100 million divorce settlement. The girlfriend Karla --- history with a %6 million severence/silence pacjage (by the way, that's #10,000 a day for every day of their relationship). The aide who almost dies because he's letting his driver scream up the highway for a photo op...she just gets sent packing.

Costly photo op

If you look back on the early posting you will notice that initial comments regarding the culture of Trooper speed arrogance and chasing the latest photo op were commented on; and dismissed by the left immediately as not appropriate. Now we know the truth.

Trooper

Why hasn't that trooper been charged?

What the Heck Is This?

Unless we know what she was "reassigned" to, how is this a story? Governor's staff change all the time, because it is exhausting work that gives people no time to themselves.

Maybe she got promoted, or asked for a transfer, or found a better offer.

It's getting embarrassing here at PNJ since the Observer took over. While PNJ has always been a gossip rag, Wally would have found out what happened to her instead of just hinting that something nefarious was happening.

For The Last Time

The Governor was going to a PRIVATE meeting b/w Imus and the basketball team. There was no press. Please, feel free to disagree with the Governor on whatever policy you may. That is your right and is good for political dialogue. But just stop making stuff up. It makes you look ignorant and kills any legitimacy of you for future arguments.

Aide

Well, maybe she should find herself another job since she probably was shaken up in the first place. Perhaps the Governor was doing her a favor on this by reassigning her.

So Blue, NJ

Blue, you are a lap dog. Is there nothing you won't spin favorable to your party and its members? Had the Governor actually made it to Drumthwacket and sat between Imus and the Rutgers team, that most definitely would have been the front page story the next morning, not his airlift from the Parkway.

So Aldo.....

Funny how ignorant you are. I'm actually a Republican. Hence, the name black and BLUE jersey. What bothers me is narrow minded individuals like you who think that getting people together to try and heal wounds on race is something bad or getting into an accident is something positive that was planned to get headlines. Let me guess, you're a disgruntled middle managing state employee or even better, an entry level lacky who picks up coffee and donuts to get ahead in life. Grow up.

so many shades of blue

I was actually talking to Blue-NJ, but thanks for sharing and what's wrong with getting ahead with coffee and donuts?

Questions...

Does Samantha's re-assignment have anything to do with the worst kept secret in Trenton- that she apparently has a "very personal" relationship with Corzine? Also, the driver who was going over 90mph gets to keep his plum job, while Samantha, one of Corzine's closest aides, gets "re-assigned." How does that make any sense? Exactly what are Corzine and his team trying to hide?
