(Mount Laurel): The campaign of Democratic Freeholder candidates Chris Brown and Mary Anne Reinhart received a major boost today when Republican elected officials Jon Shevelew and Debbie Sarcone announced they were endorsing the Brown/Reinhart team.
Shevelew, the Republican Mayor of Shamong, and Sarcone, the only Republican elected official in Evesham, have worked with Reinhart and Brown, respectively, and admire their dedication and integrity.
“Mary Anne and I have served together for many years in Shamong and although I often disagree with her positions on the issues I never question her integrity or commitment to improving the lives of the residents she serves,” said Shevelew. “Mary Anne is a unique candidate and someone Burlington County voters regardless of party ideology should support this November. She would be a tremendous Freeholder.”
“While Chris and I have certainly not always seen eye to eye when it comes to different issues, there is never any doubt in my mind that he puts the interests of Evesham residents first. That is the kind of person we need on the Freeholder Board and would be a stark contrast to his opponents,” said Sarcone. “Having worked closely with Chris and Mary Anne we can say unequivocally that they are the most qualified candidates running for Freeholder in Burlington County. As Republicans, we struggled with this decision but felt it was the right thing to do. This is not the Burlington County Republican Party that many of us so strongly supported for many years. These candidates are not like Diane Allen, Bill Haines or Jean Stanfield- people with strong moral character who champion fiscal conservatism and represent real Republican values,” said Shevelew.
“Chris and Mary Anne may have a “D” next to their name on the ballot but we encourage all Republicans to join us in voting for them this November. They are certainly more fiscally conservative than their opponents and won’t be controlled by the political insiders who brought us higher taxes and numerous scandals like the Bridge Commission and now the Board of Social Services. Having served together in our respective towns we can say without hesitation that the best candidates this year for Burlington County Freeholder are Chris Brown and Mary Anne Reinhart,” said Sarcone and Shevelew.
