DONOVAN WILL CUT ALL UNNECESSARY EXPENSES AND MAKE COUNTY GOVERNMENT SMALLER AND ACCOUNTABLE

Kathleen Donovan, Republican candidate for County Executive, pledged today to "conduct a top to bottom review of the county budget and eliminate all unnecessary expenditures."
According to Donovan, "A quick review of the county budget discloses taxpayer funds being sent to agencies outside of government. Unless these expenditures including grants provide direct taxpayer benefit they should be eliminated. Immediately."
Donovan said that she and running mates Freeholder Elizabeth Randall, Freeholder candidate Ed Trawinski and Surrogate candidate Jae Kim will conduct a thorough evaluation of the budget and eliminate any unnecessary spending. According to Donovan, "Lisa Randall is the lone Republican on the Board of Freeholders. The Democrats have blocked every effort she has made to control spending. With Ed Trawinski joining her next year we will be a significant presence with the ability to look out for taxpayers."
Donovan continued, "The Democrats have had a free hand for more than three years and there has been an explosive growth in spending under their watch. It's time to reverse that course. The days of free spending government are over. We cannot provide taxpayer relief without controlling spending. And we cannot control spending if we protect so called sacred cows. The public is demanding accountability and we are pledged to provide it."
Earlier, Donovan, Randall, Trawinski and Kim pledged to curb pension and benefits abuses by prohibiting part time political appointees from receiving full time benefits. The candidates said that they will lead by example and institute a series of reforms to eliminate pension and benefits abuses while protecting hard working public employees who provide significant services to taxpayers."

The Donovan team is really getting desperate and must be dipping in their own polling. To state that they are going to cut spending when Ms. Randall has a record of voting for no bid contracts, taxes are going up in Fair Lawn under Trawinski, and Kathe's own budget is skyrocketting. Then they tell us that they are going to take part time politicians out of the full time pension system. They should lead by example, since Randall and Trawinski are already part time politicians in the full time system they should pull out today. What could be next--a press release from Trawinski stating that he no longer believes in using taxpayers dollars to pay for abortions.
