ROBERTS APPLAUDS SELECTION OF KEN ZIMMERMAN AS NEXT CHIEF COUNSEL
(TRENTON) - Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts Jr. today issued the following statement supporting Governor Jon Corzine's decision to name Kenneth Zimmerman as Chief Counsel to the Governor:
"Ken Zimmerman brings an unparalleled public advocacy background to this position and possesses impressive legal credentials and a wealth of experience on housing, consumer protection, and civil rights issues.
"My Assembly colleagues and I had the good fortune to work closely with Mr. Zimmerman when we enacted New Jersey's strict anti-predatory lending law. Mr. Zimmerman was a key driving force in crafting that measure, which is among the toughest in the country.
"He has been a leader on other issues of social justice, most notably affordable housing and prisoner reentry.
"We welcome Mr. Zimmerman in his new position and we look forward to working with him again in the mission of making New Jersey a more just, secure, and prosperous state for its citizens."
