Another poll shows Giuliani and McCain neck-and-neck in New Jersey
By Matt Friedman, PolitickerNJ.com ReporterA poll released today by Rasmussen Reports confirms what a Monmouth University/Gannett poll showed earlier this week: that John McCain and Rudy Giuliani are in a dead heat in New Jersey.
According to the poll, McCain leads, with 29% of likely Republican voters supporting him and 27% for Giuliani – within the poll’s 4% margin of error. Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee lag behind, with 10% each, while Fred Thompson gets 6% -- just above Ron Paul’s 5%.
Those are similar numbers to the earlier poll, which put McCain at 29% and Giuliani at 25%.
The poll noted that half of McCain and Giuliani supporters are not certain that they’ll vote for the candidate, and that the race here remains extremely fluid.
A win in Florida’s upcoming primary would be expected to raise Giuliani’s momentum coming into the Super Tuesday primary, but right now he’s in third place there, according to a poll by Strategic Vision, with 18% to Huckabee’s 20% and McCain’s 27%.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton holds a commanding lead amongst Garden Staters over her nearest rival, Barack Obama, according to another Rasmussen poll. Clinton has the support of 45% to Obama’s 27%. Edwards trails behind with 11%, while 2% of New Jerseyans go for Dennis Kucinich.

This will make my effort easy as its the two worst candidates in one article.
Fact is %70 of New Jerseyans are opposed to the war in Iraq. What most people don't know about McCain is that he was caught on video in a New Hampshire townhall meeting supporting the idea that he has no problem sending our men and women there for 100 years... If %70 of us don't want this now, what makes him so sure that we will vote him, since its apparent he has no problem sending our citizenry off to a foreign land to die for unjust causes.

As for Giuliani, who is he fooling. First off, talk to anyone who works for the city of New York about Rudy, (I have personally, several times) they all despise him. Also, he tries very hard to ride the 9-11 wave, but as Chris Rock said, "What about 9-10?" Point is both he (and Hillary) are strongly despised by employees of the city of New York.
That being said, lets discuss something else. Look at how he has run his campaign... He's "ALL IN" in the hopes of a first place finish in Florida. If he falls short of that mark, his campaign is over. He's already broke, and reports are out claiming that staffers at the campaign (including his Manager, Michael DuHaime) are working for free for the month of January.
Now admittedly, depending on the source cited, some say its was a voluntary action on the part of his staff, others however say it was more coerced (Google it), but regardless, I must ask for everyone to apply common sense for a minute...
Do we really want a president who is a gambler? Realize, the President is going to be able to control the monetary policy, and set the course for spending (and lack there of). With the stock market dropping, and talks of an oncoming recession, Is it wise to elect a person who is willing to gamble a presidential bid because he choses to put all his eggs in one basket?
I will say this, he will have alot of egg to wipe off his face if he places anything but 1st in Florida.
