One potential U.S. Senate candidate is Clifford Sobel, now the United States Ambassador to Brazil. The millionaire businessman and former GOP State Committee Finance Chairman considered a Senate bid in 2006, after completing his assignment as the Ambassador to the Netherlands, but instead accepted another diplomatic post. Sobel is currently in the United States, and some Republican leaders are reaching out to him.

fair well between Pennachio and Sabrin.
Great candidate.
The GOP in NJ should coose a candidate who has closer ties to bush. He has an intimate knowledge of all things NJ and their relationship to the US Senate. The Netherlands and Brazil are a fertile training ground for this "post." Oh, this elected position.
The only reason
that anybody is mentioning him (again) is his fund raising ability.
doubtful, as usual
Wally loves to float Sobel's name every year, and Dr. Mehmet Oz too.
But I've never seen any indication whatsoever that he has the inclination to enter a bruising primary and general election.
Pennacchio's "crime"???
Is it the vowel at the end of his name or the fact he's Catholic?
Just what we need
Another Christie Whitman waterboy. Can we stop recyling the same Whitman era bozo's and get some fresh blood in here.
This is ridiculous!
